In my photography I am not a Romantic artist. A Romantic in art is one who sees things not the way they are but the way they might be and ought to be. As a photographer I cannot lay claim to the status of an artist. I can only see things the way they are. And the more "Natural" the better.
I'm just starting to take photography seriously, but this is what I hope to achieve:
"To clothe a familiar scene with ideal interest, and exalt things to which our senses are daily accustomed, into the region of imaginative beauty and genuine sentiment..."
―Henry T. Tuckerman: "The Prose-Poet: Nathaniel Hawthorne," from Mental Portraits (1853).
I love the photography of
Kathleen Connally.
Her work is as close to Art as photography can be. She makes a "familiar scene" sublime.
I shall offer links to other photographers I find and admire:

a. Particularly his
FINE ART #1.
In Vietnam most any Marine who took snapshots used the Kodak Instamatic 104. In 1968 that's what I used. Back in Vietnam in 1970 I had a Minolta SR-T 101. This is what I used to take this self-portrait. I set it up on the hood of a Jeep and used its mechanical self-timer to shoot my best friend and me.

READ READ READ: Many photographs speak for themselves. However, some have a story behind them. It can be interesting to read such stories. Take the time to not only look but to read.
